Voices in unity
Voices brought together through disciplined breathing, balance, and a shared understanding of the music.
About us
Rooted in Dar es Salaam, we present music from Tanzania and around the world with classical discipline and care.

The Tanzania Philharmonic Symphonia, based in Dar-es-Salaam, is dedicated to performing a wide range of music genres, including classical, traditional, religious, contemporary, popular, and folk music from around the world in a classical setting.
Featuring both choral and instrumental sections, as well as solo performances by singers and instrumentalists, we aim to enrich Tanzania’s cultural landscape and support the development of local musical talent.
How we perform
Our choirs, ensembles, and soloists share one commitment to the TPS standard of performance.
Voices brought together through disciplined breathing, balance, and a shared understanding of the music.
Ensembles that bring texture, rhythm, and classical precision to every programme.
Singers and instrumentalists bring individual expression to the wider concert programme.
Why we exist
We do not treat performance as spectacle alone. Every concert season is also a classroom, a community gathering, and a platform for Tanzanian musicians to be heard at a high standard.
From local stages to performances across Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, and Arusha, TPS welcomes many genres while remaining rooted in classical presentation and service to the community.
Bring world genres into Tanzanian classical spaces with care and curiosity.
Support singers, instrumentalists, and junior musicians through real performance pathways.
Use music to support well-being, strengthen identity, and create meaningful social and economic opportunities.
Align with theatres, academies, and cultural allies for excellence across seasons.
